Inner Land Of Blessings
Deuteronomy 8:1-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage commands obedience to live, prosper, and enter the land, recalling the wilderness as a test of heart and a lesson that life comes from the word of the Lord, not merely bread; discipline leads to entering a land of abundance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the scene as your inner psychology: the commandments are states of consciousness I AM calling you to inhabit. The forty years of trial are the inner tests the I AM permits to reveal what lives in your heart—that you keep these commandments or not. Hunger and manna signify you are fed not by bread alone but by the word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord within you. Your garments and feet that do not wear are signs that when you dwell in alignment, time loses its sting. Just as a father disciplines his child, the Lord disciplines you to refine your inner nature and to recognize your power to choose a good land. So you keep the commandments, walk in his ways, and fear him. The Lord leads you into a good land—the abundance you now possess: rivers, grain, vines, and fullness of heart. When you have eaten, bless the Lord within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already dwelling in the land of abundance; feel the fullness as a present truth and bless it with a acknowledged inner word.
