Deuteronomy 7:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 7 in context

Scripture Focus

5But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
Deuteronomy 7:5

Biblical Context

The verse commands dismantling the external symbols of other worships as a sign of spiritual separation and obedience to holiness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your temples are not built with stone but with thought. 'Destroy their altars' is not a command to smash outward shrines, but to remove the beliefs you have worshiped as real—images, groves, and rituals of limitation. When you feel the pull of these idols, you are invited to withdraw the belief that you are defined by what you fear or crave, for the I AM within you is the only power that shapes form. In truth you are the consciousness that imagines worlds; when you consent to a sense of separation, you feed the illusion of many gods. The moment you affirm, 'I am the source of all I perceive; I am the within that animates every form,' you burn away the old altar and its groves. The process is not cruelty but clarity—an inner purification that makes space for the one Reality that never leaves you: your awakened awareness. What remains is holiness, a clean sanctuary where your imagination can freely express the divine life you are.

Practice This Now

Choose one limiting belief and revise it by declaring, 'I am the I AM, the Source of all I perceive.' Feel this truth as real now and observe your inner world rearrange itself.
