Deliverance Through Fearless Imagination

Deuteronomy 7:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 7 in context

Scripture Focus

19The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.
Deuteronomy 7:19

Biblical Context

God delivered Israel from great temptations, signs, and wonders; the text says that same power will do to all whom you fear.

Neville's Inner Vision

All the great temptations you see are not outside you; they are currents within your state of consciousness. The 'foes' you fear are the personifications of a limited self you have believed yourself to be. The signs and wonders you recall are the vivid images your imagination has impressed upon your mind, and the 'mighty hand' is your own I AM at work when you deliberately identify with the state of deliverance. When you read that God brought you out, hear it as a declaration about your inner nature: the same I AM can deliver you from any believed enemy by shifting your inner posture. The verse teaches an inner law: as you awaken to the reality that you have already been brought out, the outer appearances yield to that truth. Fear is a habit of memory you can revise by assuming the outcome now and feeling the relief as if it already occurred. The 'people' you fear are dissolved by your steadfast inner assumption.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and recall a current fear; silently declare: 'The Lord my God has delivered me now; I am safe; I fear nothing.' Then imagine the scene dissolving into light and your outer world reflecting that inner deliverance.
