Deuteronomy 7:15-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The Lord promises to remove sickness from you and to deliver you from those who oppose you. You shall not worship their gods.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 7:15-16 is not a historical decree but a revelation of your inner state. The 'LORD' who delivers is the I AM you awaken to as consciousness. Sickness and the 'evil diseases of Egypt' are but beliefs you have entertained; when you assume a new state—health, protection, and unwavering loyalty to the true God within—you dissolve those beliefs from your experience. The command that you 'shall consume' the nations becomes a metaphor for consuming the old images that oppose your new state; your eye shall have no pity means you stop entertaining the old self’s illusions and fix your attention on the health you desire. 'Neither shalt thou serve their gods' signals steadfast devotion to your inner I AM rather than external conditions or fears. Obedience, in this light, is the continuous alignment of imagination with the desired state until it is seen as fact. And as you dwell there, the outer world follows: health is restored, vitality returns, and the imagined enemies fade as you remain loyal to the one God within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume the health state as your present truth; feel the I AM vitality flowing through you and dwell in that feeling for several minutes.
