Inner Shema Practice
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God is one; love Him with all your heart, soul, and might. These words should dwell in your heart and guide your daily conversations and actions.
Neville's Inner Vision
Hear, O Israel becomes Hear me, consciousness: the One Power behind all you perceive is the I AM within you. The LORD our God is one LORD declares the unity of that One in every facet of life. To love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might is to align every state of feeling with that One; it is a choice and a feeling, not an outward ceremonial act. When these words shall be in thy heart, you dwell in the conviction that you are ever one with the Source, and from this dwelling your actions spring with ease. Teaching them diligently unto thy children becomes teaching the idea to your inner thoughts and habits until they obey as one mind. Talk of them when thou sittest, walkest, lies down, risest up—an unceasing inner dialogue that reinforces unity. Bind them for a sign upon thy hand and between thine eyes: fix attention on the unifying Presence. Write them upon the posts of thy house and on thy gates: let your surroundings reflect your inner decree. Your world responds to the state you hold; imagination becomes reality as you persist in this oneness.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling that the One I AM governs your life; mentally repeat 'the Lord our God is one' until it stands as your present awareness; let your daily routines be guided by that unity.
