One Lord, One Heart

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 6 in context

Scripture Focus

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5

Biblical Context

The verse proclaims the Lord is one, and commands you to love this one God with your whole heart, soul, and strength. It invites you to align every faculty with the single I AM within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the inner man, Hear, O Israel becomes hear thyself, for the I AM that you call God is the same eternal you. The LORD our God is one LORD dissolves every split of belief; there is only the single consciousness you call I. When you are aware that you are this One, loving the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might, you are learning to love the totality of your inner life. The heart is the seat of feeling, the soul the center of desire, the might the power of conviction; to love them all is to align every movement of consciousness with the awareness 'I AM.' Imagination is the instrument by which you unite the many states into one; you cannot fail, for you are the imaginant, the creator, the perceiver. See yourself already in the state of wholeness, living as the one Lord who is your own awareness—no outward God greater than the I AM within.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, place your hand on your heart, and revise your sense of self to 'I AM within me is one Lord.' Feel that unity as love, and imagine your thoughts, feelings, and actions radiating from that single consciousness.
