Inner Covenant Of The One God

Deuteronomy 6:13-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 6 in context

Scripture Focus

13Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
14Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
15(For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 6:13-15

Biblical Context

The passage commands reverence for the LORD, faithful service, and avoidance of rival gods, warning that disloyalty would incur divine anger and ruin.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you the LORD thy God is the I AM, and to fear Him is to acknowledge that Presence as your sole reality. To serve Him is to align every thought, feeling, and choice with that Self, and to swear by His name is to anchor your words to the truth you know in awareness. The call not to go after other gods means you gently, resolutely turn away from counterfeit images born of fear or habit. When you notice a competing image—perhaps lack, doubt, or attachment—you remind yourself that the I AM is the jealous guardian of your unity, not a tyrant but a loving boundary that preserves wholeness. The anger threatened in the reading dissolves when you recognize that any separation from the One Self unsettles the world of your imagining; you destroy nothing, you refuse to entertain rival states. By choosing exclusive loyalty to the I AM, you keep your inner kingdom intact and reveal the covenant that has always been your true state.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and declare, 'I am the Lord thy God' and feel the Presence as your own I AM. Then imagine turning from every counterfeit image and dwelling in loyalty to that One within, feeling unity and safety arise.
