Hearing the Inner Word Within
Deuteronomy 5:27-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The people ask to hear God's word through Moses and promise to listen and obey; God confirms He has heard them and that they spoke well.
Neville's Inner Vision
Enter the inner audience of the verse: you draw near the LORD, the I AM, and listen for the word that would shape your consciousness. The Moses in you is the vessel that carries that word from your deeper self to the surface beliefs; the people are the outward thoughts clamoring for direction. When you declare, 'we will hear it, and do it,' you are not declaring a distant command but confirming the inner state of receptivity and obedience that already resides in awareness. God hears the voice of your words because your words are your thoughts given form in faith, and the reply that they have well said all that they have spoken is the inner assurance that your choice to align with the higher law is recognized by your own I AM. Thus the apparent mediator is an inner alignment: you hear the decree, you accept it, and you act from it in the next moment. The event of obedience is a state of consciousness which, once firmly assumed, magnetizes outer conditions to reflect that obedience.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state: I have heard the word of God within and I am doing it now. Feel that certainty in your chest and act as if the obedience is already accomplished.
