Hearing the Inner Statutes
Deuteronomy 5:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Moses gathers all Israel to hear the statutes and judgments, so they may learn, keep, and do them. The passage emphasizes internal obedience as the path to living truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this verse, Israel stands for your own conscious being, and the statutes and judgments are the unchanging laws inscribed in the I AM. Moses is the voice of awareness inviting you to attend to these inner laws rather than chase external rules. Hear, in this sense, means give full attention to them; learn means admit their truth into your imagination; keep and do means let your life move in harmony with that truth until outer events reflect it. When you assume these laws are true now, your inner state changes and your world conforms. This is not moralism but the recognition that reality is the sum of your inner states. To obey is to align feeling and assumption with the desired state, and to act from it, not toward it. The call to obedience is a call to sovereignty: you are the Lord of your own kingdom when you allow these inner statutes to govern your thoughts, feelings, and acts.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine hearing the inner statutes. Then declare to the I AM, 'I am living by these inner laws now' and feel the certainty as if your world is already aligned.
