Inner Path From Jericho To Zoar
Deuteronomy 34:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 34 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It lists a geographic route: the south, the plain of the valley of Jericho, and the city of palm trees, ending at Zoar.
Neville's Inner Vision
Let the verse be read as a map of your inner life. The 'south' is the outward pull of circumstance—the impulse to seek security in what you see. The 'plain of the valley of Jericho' with its palm trees represents a landscape of abundance and distraction you move through in your mind. Zoar is your inner sanctuary, the place where your I AM awareness abides; there the Kingdom within rests, untouched by the appearances outside. This is a psychological journey: you do not travel to a border; you awaken to the truth that God is the I AM you already are. By imagining this route, you revise your sense of reality from external conditions to the felt reality of your inner state. Hold in mind that the movement toward Zoar is a movement toward alignment with Divine Presence. When you inhabit Zoar in consciousness, the outer Jericho fades, and the Kingdom within becomes your lived experience, here and now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and imagine stepping from the Jericho plain into Zoar. Feel the I AM presence at the center of you and let the sense 'I am' settle as the living reality.
