Inner Refuge and Divine Help
Deuteronomy 33:26-29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 33 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage presents God as the unique help and refuge for Israel, promising safety, abundance, and victory over enemies. It declares that the divine presence sustains and protects, enabling blessing and peace.
Neville's Inner Vision
Becoming aware of the 'God of Jeshurun' is to awaken the I AM within you—the consciousness that rides the heaven of your awareness and comes to your aid in every moment. The 'eternal God' is not a distant deity but your unchanging awareness, the still point that supports you. When you claim this I AM as your refuge, you feel the 'everlasting arms' enfold you and you witness the inner foe cast out as you revise your mind. The 'land of corn and wine' is your inner abundance taking form; as heavens drop dew, lack dissolves and inspiration pours into your days. Your 'shield of thy help' and 'sword of thy excellency' are your inner faculties—security, clarity, decisive action—by which you walk and even stand on 'high places.' Your enemies become liars to you because you refuse to accept limitation. By abiding in this state, you dwell in safety within your own consciousness, and outward life follows the blessed sign of dew and plenty.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: I am saved, protected, and supplied by the I AM now. See yourself walking securely, feet on high places, while dew from heaven blesses your land.
