Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Deuteronomy 32:16-18 depicts turning from the true God toward idols and forgetting the One who formed them. It invites an inner reorientation, returning to conscious worship of the I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this scripture, you are not addressing distant rebellion, but an inner drama of consciousness. The 'strange gods' are the new beliefs you permit to supplant the I AM—the thoughts born of fear, desire, or lack. The jealous provocation you read is the friction you feel when you pretend you are other than the aware I AM. The sacrifices to devils are the power you grant to thoughts that deny your true nature; the 'gods whom your fathers feared not' are the old, unexamined identifications you cling to. The Rock that begat thee represents your unshakable awareness, the steady intelligence you forget to attend. When you forget the Rock, you forget your own forming Presence. The invitation is to return to true worship by reclaiming your consciousness as the source of all you experience. Treat every moment as a returning to the I AM, and watch life align with your restored sense of self as God’s own presence.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place awareness on the I AM within, and declare, 'I am the I AM here now.' Then revisionarily affirm, 'I worship the I AM alone; I am not separated from God and all is formed by my consciousness.'
