Inner Return to God: Obedient Heart

Deuteronomy 30:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 30 in context

Scripture Focus

2And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
Deuteronomy 30:2

Biblical Context

The verse urges a wholehearted return to the Lord and obedience to His voice with all your heart and soul. It frames this obedience as a covenant that includes you and your inner qualities.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you the verse speaks of a return, not to a distant deity but to the God you are—the I AM within. The act of obedience is not external rule-keeping but aligning your inner state with the law of consciousness that governs your life in the present moment. When you choose to imagine in harmony with that voice—heart fully engaged, sensation fully present—you enact the command here and now. The 'children' of the Lord become the inner qualities and states you claim as yours—the thoughts, feelings, and talents you nurture—your covenant loyalty to the One Awareness. 'With all thy heart, and with all thy soul' means total belief and vibrational feeling. 'This day' anchors it in the now, where imagination becomes fact. The moment you assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled and refuse to contradict it, you are obeying the inner voice and returning to your true self. The outer world then aligns to reflect that inner state.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already in complete union with the I AM. Feel the obedience as a real current running through your heart and soul.
