Cities of Provision: Deuteronomy 3:19
Deuteronomy 3:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God commands that your wives, children, and cattle remain in the cities He has given you. The verse frames provision as a settled, present reality rather than a future conquest.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture this not as a march of armies but a movement of your consciousness. The 'cities' are states of mind you have been given by the I AM, and the wives, little ones, and cattle are aspects of your life-energy and values you guard within that inner city. The line 'for I know that ye have much cattle' points to the abundance already present in your inner world; you possess more than you think when you are anchored in awareness. To abide in the cities means to dwell in a fixed inner state—certainty that the provision, protection, and presence of God are your constant reality. As you move to fulfill outward duties, you remain rooted in the realization that all you need is already given in consciousness. This is covenant loyalty: staying true to the inner state that makes the outer world obey. The Presence of God is not a distant visitation but the I AM itself inhabiting your awareness, securing your life flow.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the inner city where your family and resources dwell in peace; silently affirm, 'I am in the city given by God, and all I need is here.' Feel the reality as if it already exists, then carry that feeling into your next hour.
