Inner Victory Over Enemies

Deuteronomy 28:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 28 in context

Scripture Focus

7The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
Deuteronomy 28:7

Biblical Context

The verse promises that God will defeat your enemies before you; opposition comes against you in one way and flees in seven.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 28:7 is a living law about consciousness, not a history of battles. The enemies are not persons but states of mind that threaten your peace. The LORD is your I AM—the awareness within you that simply is. When you dwell in the assumption that you are already victorious, you activate the law of imagination: your inner image leads the outer scene. The moment you feel the wish fulfilled, fear collapses, doubt dissolves, and the outer conditions begin to adjust to your inner picture. The enemies 'smite' before your face because the old self is dissolving under the power of a new center of attention—the I AM—that you have fixed in consciousness. They come against you one way because a single belief has control, and they flee seven ways as every stray thought, habit, and circumstance is drawn away by that stronger center. This is not coercion but awakening to your true identity, and harmony follows as the inner recognition becomes your outward life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume you are already victorious, and feel the I AM supporting you. Let any opposing thoughts fade, and notice the exterior world rearranging to reflect your inner victory.
