Sacred Confession, Obedient Living
Deuteronomy 26:13-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 26 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The speaker proclaims that they have separated the sacred from the mundane, given sacred offerings to the inner Levite and to those in need, and kept the divine commandments. They affirm they have not polluted the sacred with mourning or impurity, nor used it for the dead, but have listened to the LORD and acted accordingly.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within my inner theater, the hallowed things are not propositions or rituals, but facilities of consciousness I marshal for good. When I say, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, I am claiming that I have separated the divine substance from mere appearances and offered it to the Levite within me - the minister of my inner temple who translates inspiration into action. The stranger, the fatherless, the widow symbolize neglected aspects of myself that cry for care; by giving to them, I declare my own inner abundance. To say, I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them, is to affirm my alignment with the inner law of consciousness - the I AM. Mourning and death are fear and stale habit; I do not feed those states. Instead I listen to the voice of the LORD my God - the inner guidance of my higher self - and I do according to all that is commanded: I live as one who is already in harmony with divine order.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and feel as if you have already offered the inner sacred things to the Levite within; let it be felt real in your heart, a present-tense conviction that you are governed by the I AM and living in obedience to its command.
