Inner Theft, Inner Justice

Deuteronomy 24:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 24 in context

Scripture Focus

7If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.
Deuteronomy 24:7

Biblical Context

It condemns stealing a fellow Israelite and selling him. It commands that such evil be removed from the community.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within every moment, a man is not a thief of flesh but a thief of consciousness when he acts from lack toward his neighbor. The 'brethren' are your own inner states; to steal from them is to deny the wholeness of your I AM. When you find yourself feeling lack or envy toward another's light, you are rehearsing the old law: 'merchandise' or 'sell' the living energy of your brother by reducing him to utility. The command to die to that thief is not punishment but a call to let that old self perish—the part of you that believes there is scarcity. 'Put evil away from among you' becomes a practice of interior unity: do not permit any belief that you are separate from your brother or that he exists for your use. Instead, awaken to the truth that you and your brother share the same I AM, the same creative power. By choosing to forgive, to bless, and to stand in abundance, you eject the old thief and revive the righteous, communal life within.

Practice This Now

Assume the consciousness of abundant unity; revise any impulse to 'take' into a blessing and feel-it-real that your inner world and your neighbor's are one.
