Timely Hire, Inner Wealth

Deuteronomy 24:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 24 in context

Scripture Focus

14Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:
15At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
Deuteronomy 24:14-15

Biblical Context

The passage commands fair treatment and timely pay to a poor hired servant, tying justice to daily life. It warns that withholding wages is sin, inviting divine scrutiny.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner theatre of your life, the hired servant represents a part of your own consciousness that fears lack. To oppress him is to starve a portion of your I AM, thereby withholding your own good. When you delay payment or judge the worker as Other, you reinforce scarcity and obscure the truth that you are the source of all supply. The imperative to pay on his day is a cue to shift your inner economy: affirm the feeling of sufficiency now, feel the relief as if your riches are already flowing, and know that your outer world must mirror this inner abundance. The sun going down signifies the moment you stop doubting and start living from the awareness that the I AM is your continuous source. The “poor” servant is not separate from you but an image of wealth awaiting realization through your present faith. So revise your state to one of instantaneous, heartfelt payment, and stand in the assurance that you are the I AM who provides.

Practice This Now

In the next moment, assume the consciousness of the employer who has already paid the wage in full; feel the relief, gratitude, and abundance flooding your chest, and carry that feeling as you proceed through the day.
