Purity Before Battle: Inner Guard
Deuteronomy 23:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
When life faces conflict, the verse calls you to guard your conduct and stay free from anything that corrupts your inner temple. This is an inner discipline—preparing your consciousness for victory before any outward action.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your enemies are not merely others; they are the restless thoughts and habits that defile consciousness. The host going forth is your life in action, and 'wicked things' are inward states—fear, anger, doubt, and resentment—that would contaminate your decision and performance. The command is not a ban on external warfare alone, but a summons to maintain an undisturbed I AM, to refuse identification with contaminated thoughts as you step into work, conflict, or challenge. When you persist in a state of wholeness—harmless, loving, victorious—the outward field adjusts to that inner truth. The law of assumption says you become what you assume; thus you cannot go forth with impurity in your mind and expect a pure outcome. Replace every wicked thought with a purified image; dwell in the end you desire; imagine yourself triumphant and unafraid. Let your imagination cleanse the field before action, and your consciousness will lead the way.
Practice This Now
Assume the state now—repeat, 'I am the I AM, holy and harmless' while picturing yourself stepping into your day untainted by any wicked thought.
