Inner Covenant With Every Neighbor

Deuteronomy 23:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 23 in context

Scripture Focus

7Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.
8The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.
Deuteronomy 23:7-8

Biblical Context

The text instructs not to hate Edomites or Egyptians, recognizing a shared humanity; it also notes their descendants may join the LORD’s assembly in the third generation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Interpret this as a divine instruction to treat every neighbor as kin within your own consciousness. You are told not to abhor the Edomite or the Egyptian because they are related to you in the higher awareness you call I AM. In your inner world, judgments about others are movements of fear; when you habituate a state of unconditional acceptance, you invite those 'others' to appear as allies of your own growth. The congregation of the LORD is the assembly of your inner I AM—a state of harmony where all aspects of yourself are welcomed. The third generation hints that such a shift is cumulative, not instant; as you persist in the feeling that all are brothers, generations of your belief rearrange themselves until those who once seemed foreign enter your spiritual congregation.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling: 'I AM one with all; I do not abhor any neighbor.' Then revise any annoyance as a mere thought-formation and feel this reality until it becomes your habitual state.
