Deuteronomy 23:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 23 in context

Scripture Focus

4Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
5Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.
Deuteronomy 23:4-5

Biblical Context

The passage shows that an attempted curse was thwarted by God and turned into blessing because He loves you.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville lens, this text is a testament to the primacy of inner consciousness. The outer enemy and the ‘curse’ are mere images within the mind, while the true power lies in the I AM—the unchanging awareness within you. When you come forth from any sense of bondage (Egypt), you may meet terms of lack or attack in the world, but God’s love overrides them. Balaam’s weapon is powerless against the inward decision of the self that knows it is loved. Therefore, the seemingly adverse circumstances reveal a law: your state of consciousness can convert what appears as a curse into a blessing by aligning with the divine in you. If you accept and dwell in the fact that you are loved by the Lord, you cue a reversal in perception that torna external threat into inward grace. The practice is to hold to the truth of your beloved state and let that love rearrange your experience into blessing.

Practice This Now

Assume the truth that you are loved by God; feel that love in your chest until it floods your life. Silently declare, 'I am loved; every curse is reversed into blessing,' and envision the blessing manifesting in your circumstances.
