Inner Purity Manifesto
Deuteronomy 22:22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 22 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse states that if a man lies with a married woman, both shall die, removing evil from Israel.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your world is the dream of your I AM. When the text speaks of death for the adulterous pair, do not fixate on punitive punishment for others; hear it as the call to purge all inner contradictions. Adultery, in this light, is the collision of two incompatible states within you: the living sense of I AM and the belief in a divided self that seeks misplaced satisfaction. The command to put away evil from Israel becomes a command to cleanse your own kingdom of consciousness from rule by fear, guilt, and appetite. The ‘death’ is the old pattern of separation dissolving under the insistence of unity; the man and the woman are symbolic images of opposite tendencies that must be harmonized by awareness of one will and one power. When you truly know you are the I AM, the outer world’s judgments lose power, and the inner condition is healed. The law thus acts not to punish but to awaken, urging you to revise until you inhabit a single, indivisible consciousness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your only reality. Revise the sense of inner division by picturing the conflicting images dissolving in a bright unity.
