Inner Restitution of Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy 22:18-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses describe elders enforcing punishment and a silver restitution when a man derides a virgin, resulting in the man marrying her and remaining bound to her for life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, observe that the surface law is not about geography; it is a door into your own consciousness. The elders are the still, inner authorities of your mind, chastening a belief that would defile your sacred state. The 'man' is a habit of thought that would cast a shadow on your ideal inner virgin—the pristine clarity of your awareness. When he is 'amerced in a hundred shekels of silver,' you are placing a price on a false image, turning away from it with a definite measure. The silver is the value you assign to the revision you are willing to make, a fungible token you hand to the inner father—the source that accepts and holds your new intent. The phrase 'because he hath brought up an evil name' points to a thought-form that defiles your inner beauty; renouncing it, you set your mind on the truth of your birthright. And the outcome—'she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days'—speaks of an irrevocable binding: a new dominant state of consciousness that cannot be dispelled, precisely because you chose it. When you align with the I AM and feel the end as already yours, you awaken to a continuous, unbroken relationship with your higher self rather than to punishment.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner governor has already restored the sacred state; revise the scene in your mind until you feel it real. Hold that feeling for a moment as you imagine your consciousness married to its truth, and let that unity guide every thought that follows.
