Two Wives, One Inheritance
Deuteronomy 21:15-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 21 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Two wives produce two sons, but the law chooses the firstborn as the son of the hated. He must receive a double portion, not the beloved's son.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you two inner states contend for the throne: the beloved and the hated. Deuteronomy tells us the firstborn is not the favored son but the one born from the state you once judged as least. The command to give him a double portion is an inner law: feed and crown the enduring state of consciousness you most need, until it becomes your dominant sense of I AM. When you acknowledge the 'hated' as the true firstborn, you stop splitting your life between hope and lack and stop parading one belief while starving its rival. Instead, imagine and feel the one you want as already established—the strength at the root of your being—so that the outer inheritance of health, wealth, and justice naturally follows. The moment you revise by giving the firstborn inner state its rightful portion, your world reorganizes to reflect that reality, for God is within and imagination creates form.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and say, 'The firstborn state within me—the enduring I AM—receives the double portion of my attention now.' Imagine giving it all your resources, and feel your outer life shifting to reflect its strength.
