Inner Justice and Clarity Within
Deuteronomy 19:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 19 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Elders enforce consequence for a crime, and the community is instructed to remove the guilt of innocent blood so that Israel can prosper.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the city elders are your disciplined states of consciousness—boundaries that separate impulse from action. The 'avenger of blood' is the iron law of cause and effect that follows belief lived through imagination. When you read, 'Thine eye shall not pity him,' hear it as the awakened sight of the I AM, refusing to linger in sentimental sympathy for an old self born of fear or habit. Delivering him into the avenger's hand is your act of unburdening: you release the old self, the 'guilty' you, from the throne of awareness so the inner Israel—the ideal life, alignment, and prosperity—may flourish. To 'put away the guilt of innocent blood' is to cleanse your inner kingdom of a mistaken belief that you or your tribe owe punishment to another's error. The innocent blood you remove is the sense of impurity attached to your own identity; by recognizing that all outcomes flow from current consciousness, you allow the I AM to rewrite the scene. When this inner statute is kept, life returns to right order and harmony follows.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM is the city elders within you, delivering the old self to the law of cause and effect. Feel it real by releasing guilt and affirming, 'There is no innocent blood in my inner kingdom,' and observe your circumstances aligning with peace.
