Inner City Refuge Revelation
Deuteronomy 19:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 19 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Hatred toward a neighbor that moves to lethal action is treated as a serious breach, judged by the inner authorities. The call to remove innocent blood and not pity reveals a principle of inner accountability that favors communal well-being.
Neville's Inner Vision
Know that you are not dealing with people or laws but with your own states of consciousness. Hatred is a hidden call from lack of wholeness, a murderer within you that seeks to sever the harmony of life. The city that receives the culprit stands for your inner sanctuary of awareness where you do not feed the impulse with pity or justification but hand it over to the higher order of your being—the I AM, which is the life principle within you. The avenger of blood represents the natural law of consequence, the undeniable return that follows any thinking that would harm another. When you feel the impulse to strike, imagine the elders as your higher self guiding you to remove the urge from action, and imagine the guilt as a weight you release by acknowledging you are one with life. Do not pity the impulse in order to indulge it; see it as an illusion that dissolves when you affirm your unity with life. Then life goes well with you, because you have aligned with the reality of your true being.
Practice This Now
Practice: In moments of anger or hatred, close your eyes and assume the I AM is the sovereign mover of your life; revise the thought into I release this urge and protect life. Feel the refuge of awareness within as the energy settles into harmony.
