Purity Guards Inner Kingdom
Deuteronomy 18:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Verse 18:12 states that the behaviors named are an abomination to the LORD, and because of them, the LORD drives these dispositions out from before you.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the abominations spoken of are not distant sins but inner states you entertain in place of the one Presence within. When you mistake appearances, fears, or compulsions for reality, you are worshiping idols in the temple of your own I AM. The LORD thy God—your living awareness, your I AM—will drive these misalignments out of your mind not by punishment, but by the inevitable rearrangement of consciousness when you consent to truth. As you acknowledge the I AM as your only ruler, the landscape of your mind shifts: fears melt, attachments loosen, judgments fall away, and the land before thee—your field of awareness—becomes clear and green for the divine birth. The "abominations" vanish as you cease naming them as true power and begin naming the I AM as the sole acts of life. Remember: you are the creator of your experiences; to dislodge these inner idols is to permit the creative power to operate unhindered. In this light, Deuteronomy's judgment becomes a gentle invitation to awaken the inner kingdom where God, the I AM, reigns unchallenged.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare 'I AM' as the sole ruler of your mind. Then revise one inner tendency you call real (fear, doubt, habit) and feel it being replaced by the clear presence of the I AM as your new reality.
