The soothsayer, the diviner, the observer of times—these are images of a mind chasing certainty outside the self. In Neville's terms, divination is a state of consciousness that looks to knowledge outside the self; it is a misalignment with the one power that you truly are: I AM. The command is not a historical prohibition but a psychological one: resist giving your attention to external devices to control fate. Your true worship is inner alignment, a keeping of the heart unstained by fear or craving, a disciplined imagination that refuses to barter the inner life for outward signs. If you find yourself tempted to 'perform' or 'test' life with signs, revise the assumption: you are already that which you seek, and your world manifests from your I AM awareness. The moment you accept this, purification occurs—holiness is a state of present awareness, not a ritual.
