Inner Covenant Awakening Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy 17:2-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage warns of a found abomination within Israel—wickedness that transgresses the covenant by worshiping other gods—emphasizing loyalty and the demand for true worship. It points to an inner standard of fidelity that must be recognized and upheld.
Neville's Inner Vision
On the surface the decree speaks of a found abomination within Israel, a thing done in the sight of the LORD. In true Neville fashion, see this as a description of a state of consciousness found in the gates of your own mind. The 'wickedness' is not a person, but a belief that you have fallen from the I AM, a habit of worshipping 'other gods'—the sun, the moon, the host of heaven—as if you were separated from the living presence. These idols are simply thoughts and images that pull attention away from the one reality you are: the I AM. The task is not external judgment but inner investigation: diligently inquire what belief you have entertained, what allegiance you have given your mind, and where you have forgotten your true self. If the inner Israel is aligned with such a belief, revise it—name the state as a mere belief and declare the covenant of the I AM restored. Then, feel the reality of that loyalty now, and let the outward appearances reflect that inner alignment.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are faithful to the I AM; repeat the phrase I AM until you feel the covenant kept within. When doubts arise, revise them by saying there is no other god but the I AM and notice the outer world shifting to reflect that inner truth.
