Deuteronomy 17:2

Biblical Context

Deuteronomy 17:2 warns that a wicked act found within the gates points to a breach of the LORD's covenant. It calls for accountability to loyalty and obedience.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, the I AM stands at the gates of your mind. The man or woman who has wrought wickedness in Deuteronomy language is the belief, feeling, or habit that has fallen out of alignment with the covenant you are: the oneness of consciousness with God. Transgressing the covenant is the dream of separation, lack, or guilt that you entertain as real. Neville would tell you that this 'wickedness' is a movement of thoughts, not a person; it arises when you forget that your true state is always unity with the I AM. The remedy is not punishment but awareness: observe the thought as if it is happening in the gates of your own mind, and return to the covenant by reasserting your identity as the I AM, the sole lawgiver and closer of all gaps. By refusing to fear error and by assuming the feeling of being wholly in covenant, you dissolve the appearance of breach. Your imagination, rightly employed, re-creates your life as harmony, health, and secure relationship with the divine Presence within.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes before the mind's gate and declare, 'I AM the covenant; I have kept it; I dissolve any belief of breach and feel this unity now.' Rest in the sensation of that oneness.
