Inner Throne of the Law
Deuteronomy 17:18-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage directs the king to copy the law, read it daily, keep its commands, and guard against pride so that his days in the kingdom are prolonged.
Neville's Inner Vision
On the throne of my mind sits the I AM, and it writes a copy of the Law in the book of my heart. The Law is not a mere external rule but the inner decree I choose to inhabit. By reading it daily—by turning my attention to the timeless command I fear the LORD my God and keep all its words—my heart stops wandering and learns to stay in integrity. When I imagine myself as one who has kept the covenant inwardly, pride dissolves; comparisons fade; my life is governed by the law I renew within. In this inward act I prolong my days, not by outward praise, but by the fidelity of my inner obedience. The kingdom I seek is the state of consciousness that honors every command and remains centered in the I AM, here and now, in the midst of my inner Israel.
Practice This Now
Imaginatively, sit on your mental throne and write a personal law in a book of your heart, reading it aloud daily and feeling the reverent fear of the I AM. Then revise any thought or situation that contradicts it until you feel it is real, embodying the decree in your present life.
