The Inner King Divine Authority
Deuteronomy 17:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage says the king must be chosen by the LORD from among your own people, not a foreigner.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your land is the field of your awareness, and the king you appoint is the state of consciousness you consent to wear in life. The clause 'whom the LORD thy God shall choose' is not a political endorsement but a spiritual reality: God chooses the ruler within you; the self you accept as the ruling principle becomes your outward orders. To set a stranger over you is to refuse the unity of your inner brethren—the diverse faculties that belong to your own mind. In Neville’s terms, the I AM is the unchanging awareness that authorizes every experience, and imagination is the instrument by which you bring that authority into form. When you align with the inner governor, obedience and fidelity arise as natural attitudes; Providence unfolds as you stop seeking leadership outside and begin recognizing the sovereign state already seated within. Practice is simple: refuse to entertain any state of lack or fear as your king; instead, assume, right here and now, that the I AM, the LORD's chosen ruler, is the one you, in faith, accept as your consciousness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM already seated on the throne of your life, saying, 'I am the king of my life, appointed by the LORD within me.' Then dwell in the feeling of rightful rule as the outer world reflects that inner sovereignty.
