The Inner Pilgrimage Practice
Deuteronomy 16:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Deuteronomy 16:16 commands three annual appearances before the Lord at a place He chooses. It also instructs that they should not appear before the Lord empty.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the mindful seeker, Deuteronomy 16:16 is not a schedule but a law of consciousness. The three appearances are three turning points in your awareness, returning you to the inner sanctuary your I AM has chosen. The place He shall choose is not a distant temple but the still point of your own mind where awareness rests—the I AM that you are. Unleavened bread becomes a mind free of stale belief, clear and undefiled; the feast of weeks marks a steady ripening of intention; the feast of tabernacles is the dwelling of God within your consciousness. When you appear before the Lord, you appear to your own I AM, aligning thought and feeling with the Presence instead of chasing rituals. Do not appear empty; the law invites you to fill your inner atmosphere with the fullness already present in imagination. Your obedience is fidelity to the living Presence; your pilgrimage is ongoing because you are always returning to the I AM you are, dissolving separation and waking to the reality that God is immanent in every moment.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and declare that you are before the I AM now; feel the Presence filling you as you imagine yourself standing in that inner sanctuary. Do this at dawn, at noon, and before sleep, revising any sense of lack into the fullness of your true presence.
