Inner Sabbath Release

Deuteronomy 15:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 15 in context

Scripture Focus

1At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.
2And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release.
Deuteronomy 15:1-2

Biblical Context

At the end of seven years, debts are released; creditors must forgive what is owed to neighbors. This 'LORD's release' embodies mercy and social justice within the covenant.

Neville's Inner Vision

Read as a psychological scripture, the yearly release is a state of consciousness: you no longer owe your neighbor or be owed by him; you owe nothing to the past and nothing to the future. In Neville's voice, the seven-year cycle is a symbolic cadence in the mind, not a ledger of debt but a turning of the inner wheel. When you acknowledge the LORD's release, you acknowledge that your awareness is the owner of time and value. If you insist on being owed or on collecting, you keep your mind in bondage to appearances; when you assume the released state, you revise the script of your life. See the creditor and debtor as two roles you have projected; release them in imagination, and watch your inner climate become forgiving, just, and light. The law of consciousness says that as you release, you receive: peace, expanded perception, and a fresh environment compatible with your new state.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and repeat, 'I am released now; debts forgiven in my mind.' Feel the lightness entering your chest and let this feeling realign your perception of those around you.
