Inner Tithe, Outer Joy
Deuteronomy 14:22-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 14 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage commands you to tithe the yearly increase and to feast before the LORD, sharing your wealth in the presence of God. It also instructs you to care for the Levite who has no inheritance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Its message is not taxation but a spiritual law of return. All increase in consciousness—skill, health, opportunity—is the fruits of the I AM. To tithe is to acknowledge that energy is borrowed from the divine storehouse and to send a generous portion back into the field of awareness where it can work again in your life. 'Eat before the LORD' becomes feasting in your own inner temple, a conscious communion with the Source that makes fear drop and joyous recognition rise. If the way of outward delivery seems long, you convert the outer symbol into inner currency and 'bind up the money in thine hand' as a firm decision in imagination. Take that energy to the inner place the Lord has chosen, spend it on what your soul desires, and rejoice as a family would, knowing you are in harmony with the divine law. The Levite within is the mindful helper—when you protect and honor that inner guide, you keep the entire temple alive.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume the stance of tithing—declare 'I tithe now to the I AM within me' and feel the energy of increase returning to you as joy. Then imagine entering your inner temple to feast with your household, honoring the Levite within.
