Biblical Context
Deuteronomy 12:26-27 directs you to bring your sacred offerings and vows to the place God chooses, offer the burnt offerings on the altar, pour out the blood, and eat the flesh.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the mind, the holy things and vows are your abiding states. The place the Lord shall choose is the inner center of consciousness—the I AM, the awareness you live through. When you carry your offerings to that inner altar, you surrender the old story of limitation and let the life-blood of your former ego pour out there, so the demand of fear and lack is poured out on the altar of God. The flesh you eat is the new form of life born from your faithful imagining. The verse does not demand a temple; it invites you to make the inner sanctuary your priority, to consecrate thoughts and feelings through persistent attention until they become your reality. In this way, obedience is a shift in consciousness, not a ritual to perform, and sacrifice becomes the releasing of old identifications into the flame of awareness, where the I AM consumes them and you awaken to a liberated life.
Practice This Now
Take a moment now to name one holy thought or vow you wish to realize. Close your eyes, imagine carrying it to your inner altar, feel the 'blood' of the old you pour out, and 'eat' the new life as if already true.
