Inner Commandments and Land

Deuteronomy 11:1-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 11 in context

Scripture Focus

1Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
2And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
3And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
4And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
5And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
6And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
7But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
8Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
Deuteronomy 11:1-8

Biblical Context

The passage exhorts loving God, keeping His statutes, and remembering past wonders to fortify faith and prepare one to possess the promised land.

Neville's Inner Vision

Remember, this text speaks not to distant people but to your inner life. The command to love the LORD thy God and to keep His charge invites your I AM to harmonize with a single, divine pattern already present within you. When you read of the miracles in Egypt, the Red Sea, and the wilderness, you are not hearing history; you are feeling the movements of your own consciousness shifting toward greater power and clarity. The acts attributed to the LORD are inner demonstrations of imagination at work, dissolving what blocks you and revealing the land of fulfilled purpose. Your eyes may have seen these great acts in the moment of reflection; such inner witnessing proves that your inner life is not inert but active, creative, and authoritative. Therefore, keep the commandments this day as the living law of your awareness, not as a rule imposed from without. If you assume you are already the person who loves, obeys, and remembers, you will move from longing to possession, and the inner land will emerge as a natural expression of that realized state.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already the one who loves, obeys, and remembers. Feel the reality of the land in your present moment and revise any doubt until you feel it is done.
