Inner Law of Love
Deuteronomy 11:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text commands loving God and keeping His commandments always. It presents obedience as an inner commitment expressed in daily conduct.
Neville's Inner Vision
To love the LORD thy God, and to keep His charge, and His statutes, and His judgments, and His commandments, alway, is not a plea to appease an external ruler, but a revelation of your inner state. In Neville's language, the LORD is the I AM within you—the living consciousness that stands before every choice. When you hold this I AM as your reality, love becomes not a feeling you muster, but a stance of awareness: you are already in harmony with principle; statutes and commandments become natural patterns of your inner life. Obedience then is simply alignment with the truth you have assumed in imagination. The moment you imagine yourself acting from this inner sovereignty, the outer world begins to bend to that conviction. The verse asks you to always love and obey; Neville would have you make this present-tense: feel the consistency of your inner state, regardless of appearances. Your task is the practice of revision—replacing lack or division with the certainty that you and God are one, and your life flows from that unity.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already loving the LORD and obeying His statutes in your inner state, and feel that you are one with the I AM. Then revise any sense of lack as you go about your day, letting this inner state govern your actions.
