Inner Covenant Reverence

Deuteronomy 10:20-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 10 in context

Scripture Focus

20Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
21He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
Deuteronomy 10:20-21

Biblical Context

The text commands you to revere the Lord, serve Him, cleave to Him, and swear by His name. It declares that He is thy praise and thy God—the One who has shown you great and terrible deeds.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the Lord as the I AM at the center of your being. Fear becomes reverence for the power of your own consciousness; to serve Him is to align your every thought, image, and feeling with that state. To cleave to Him and swear by His name is to commit to the present assumption that you are His embodiment here and now. The great and terrible things you have seen are outward signs of inner movements—shifts in your inner state, imagined into form. When you declare that He is thy praise and He is thy God, you acknowledge that all praise and all power flow from the I AM you are. The covenant loyalty spoken of is simply steadfast allegiance to that inner self, returning again and again to the awareness of God within until your outer life reflects the throne you have chosen to occupy.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM as your Lord for a minute daily. Revise any sense of separation by silently affirming, 'I AM the Lord of my life,' and feel that truth as already present.
