Dread Not, Trust Within

Deuteronomy 1:29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 1 in context

Scripture Focus

29Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.
Deuteronomy 1:29

Biblical Context

The verse commands you not to dread or fear what lies ahead. It anchors you in trust that the divine presence guides you through every moment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Dread not is a call to shift your entire consciousness, not merely to restrain the body. The 'enemies' are inner movements— memories of separation, thoughts of lack, imagined dangers—yet in the stillness of the I AM they vanish. When you say, 'I am not afraid,' you are not denying reality but returning to the awareness you are the I AM, the consciousness in which all events unfold. The moment you assume you are guided, protected, and attended by divine presence, fear loses power. Your imagination becomes the ladder by which you ascend from fear into peace. Remember: imagination creates reality. By assuming the end—that you are safe now—you align the outer world with the inner state. This is Providence as awake, loving awareness: a posture of mind that does not seek outside approval but remembers its divine origin. The decree 'Dread not' becomes a daily practice: return again and again to the consciousness that already holds you in peace.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, breathe, and declare, 'I am the I AM; I am not afraid.' Visualize the imagined foes dissolving into light as you feel a calm, guiding presence surrounding you.
