Daniel 9:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Daniel 9:5-6 records a corporate confession of sin and rebellion against God's precepts, and a failure to heed the prophets. It signals a turning point in their relationship to divine guidance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Daniel's confession is not history but a map of inner state. 'We have sinned' marks the moment a thought-form has occupied the mind and pulled it away from the I AM presence. The words 'iniquity' and 'rebellion' describe inner distortions—images of separation from the divine order your awareness once assumed. 'Not hearkening to the prophets' is the neglect of your own inner guidance, the whispered advice of the inner prophet I AM which speaks as intuition, impulse toward right action. To redeem this, you do not plead with outward authorities; you revise your state of consciousness. Assume now that you have already kept the precepts and judgments of the inner law; feel the certainty of alignment, and let repentance be a felt decision rather than sorrow. When you interiorly obey, the 'land' and 'people' of your life begin to rearrange themselves to reflect your new inner order. The key is to accept that the divine truth within you is constant, and your outer world obeys the conviction you cultivate in imagination.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise the verse into your present state: I am the I AM, perfectly aligned with divine precepts. Feel this alignment as your immediate reality, and permit your outer life to follow.
