Tekel: Inner Balance Revealed
Daniel 5:27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Daniel 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse states that the king is weighed in the divine balances and found wanting. It marks an inner call to examine and revise one's state of consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Tekel is not a courtroom in the sky, but the moment your consciousness is measured by the I AM. The inner scale is your thoughts, motives, and emotions, weighed by awareness that does not condemn but reveals where you are in relation to your true self. When you feel 'weighed and found wanting,' you are simply noticing a gap between your present state and the state you affirm in the I AM. The remedy is not self-criticism but revision: assume a new state of consciousness and feel it real. Say to yourself: I AM the light by which all things are measured; I AM righteousness present now; my life is in divine balance. In that assumption the scales tilt toward harmony, and your outer scene rearranges to reflect the inner recognition. Let the I AM be your judge and ruler, not guilt. You can enter a temple of order through faithful imagination, not outward ritual. The moment you recognize you are the I AM, Tekel dissolves; you are weighed and found exactly as you choose to be—balanced, whole, and aligned with divine order.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine a gentle scale resting over your chest. Place your current thought on the left pan, then declare, 'I AM the balance' and feel the right pan rise, tilting your life toward the state you choose.
