Biblical Context
Daniel 2:39-40 describes a sequence of kingdoms; Neville sees these as inner states of mind that rise and fall, mirroring how belief and attention shape our experience of power, control, and constraint.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, the emperors of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream are not distant nations but distinct states of consciousness. The first empire after thee represents a mind clinging to outer authority, fear, and names—the belief that power comes from without and can be measured by force. The brass kingdom that follows stands for a more flexible rulership—an educated, ambitious will that bears rule over many concerns, yet remains rooted in the same premise: power is earned by effort and technique. The iron kingdom embodies stubborn, mechanistic thinking; it breaks and bruises because it trusts ends more than the quiet, unified awareness that is always present. Yet in this vision the true solution is not to defeat the kingdoms but to awaken within the one who is above them—the I AM that witnesses and reigns over every inner movement. When you entertain the truth that you are the creator of your inner atmosphere, the outer kingdoms tremble, dissolve, or recede. The promise is that the Kingdom of God, once realized within, subdues every other power by the simple act of awareness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, breathe, and declare, 'I am the I AM; I reign over all inner states.' Feel this reign as a real, present sensation for 5–7 minutes, then carry the sense of sovereignty into ordinary moments.
