Inner Wars of the Mind
Daniel 11:13-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Daniel 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage depicts a northern king returning with power and wealth, others rising to oppose the south, and his advance into the land so complete that no strength resists him.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of Daniel 11:13-16 as a map of inner states, not armies. The king of the north is the dominant thought of lack that returns with greater energy—the belief you must conquer life by force, with wealth or power. The south is the memory of what you fear losing, the robbers of your people who accede to the vision to test it. They shall fall when you refuse to invest in them. The king's setting up of a mount and taking fenced cities are the mental images you have built to defend your dream. Yet the line remains: none shall stand before him; he shall stand in the glorious land, by his hand consumed. In inner terms, a new sovereign I AM arises, consuming the old doubts and dissolving the outer battles. When you dwell in the awareness that you are the I AM, the perceived foes lose their hold, and you inhabit the inner kingdom where the vision is already accomplished.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and identify the king of the north as the stubborn thought of lack; rest in the I AM and feel the land within as present. Repeat I AM as the sovereign ruler for a few minutes daily.
