Daniel 1:5

Biblical Context

Verse 1:5 describes a daily provision given to the youths for three years to prepare them to stand before the king.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the king within as your inner governor. The meat and wine are vivid images that nourish your senses. The three years of nourishment are the steady inner training of your consciousness until it can stand before the king with confidence. When you accept that nourishment as symbolic, your inner man is shaped to meet any outer demand. Providence and guidance arise as the responses of your imagination; the sense of lack dissolves as you persist in the truth that you are already in possession of authority. You are the king, the I AM behind all appearances, and your task is to feel this sovereignty until the outward scene reflects it.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place yourself in the inner audience chamber, and assume the state I am nourished by divine provision and already standing before the King. Hold that feeling for a few minutes, then carry it into your day.
