Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul urges masters to act justly toward their servants and to stay in prayer with thanksgiving. He also seeks opportunities to proclaim the mystery of Christ and to speak with wisdom and grace toward those outside the faith.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville’s reading, Colossians 4:1–6 becomes a map of inner life. The masters and the servants are inner dispositions and motives, bound by a higher authority—the Master in heaven, the I AM within. When you treat your thoughts and conditions as just and equal, you acknowledge that your inner ruler is just and you invite your outer world to reflect that law. Prayer and thanksgiving become the steady mood of consciousness, a doorway through which the door of utterance may open to reveal the mystery of Christ as living truth within you. Even when you feel bound by old beliefs, you are invited to revise them, imagining yourself already speaking the truth you seek to reveal. Walk in wisdom toward those without by redeeming the time, so that every moment serves your inner decree. Let your speech be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that each reply carries the fragrance of your realized identity.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume you are the Master in heaven, speaking with grace to every situation. Close your eyes and imagine the door of utterance swinging open before you, then feel your words aligning with your inner truth.
