Inner Speech, Pure Life
Colossians 3:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Colossians 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul urges you to shed anger, malice, filthy language, and deceit, and to discard the old self.
Neville's Inner Vision
There is only one I AM within, and the verses invite you to remove the worn coat of anger, malice, blasphemy, and lying, for you have already laid aside the old man. The scene is a state of consciousness; when you awaken to God within, inner weather shifts and the outward life follows. In this light, do not battle impulses but revise them: affirm, I am the truth of God; I speak with purity, integrity, and kindness. Feel that truth in your chest until the old vibrations dissolve. Stop lying to yourself about who you are; replace the old self with the I AM that creates your world through perception. As your inner state aligns with truth, your words, thoughts, and actions harmonize with the new man, and the outer life follows the inward shift.
Practice This Now
Assume the end now: you are the I AM, speaking truth with kindness. In the next moment, revise any harsh word by feeling it real as your natural speech.
