Biblical Context
Colossians 3:22-25 calls servants to obey their masters sincerely and wholeheartedly, not for appearances, knowing the Lord rewards righteous conduct and that there are consequences for wrongdoing.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this text, the appearance of master and servant is but a symbol of your inner state. The true 'master' is your awareness, the I AM that requires you to bring singular devotion to every act. Be free of eyeservice—the habit of performing for applause—by sinking your attention into the one idea: you are doing this for the Lord Christ within. When you act, imagine you are answering to the inner authority that never judges by others, but reveres truth. Do all things heartily, as you would offer a sacred gift to your own consciousness, knowing the reward you seek is the inheritance of peace, clarity, and power that follows from alignment with God within. If you ever do wrong, remember there are no favoritism or exceptions in your inner court; you reap the results in your own state of being. Your external world changes only as your inner state changes first.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes; assume the feeling: I am serving the Lord Christ in every task, right now. Then revise any self-doubt by declaring: in this moment, I am complete and worthy of the reward that follows from a faithful inner posture.
