Biblical Context
Colossians 3:17 teaches that whatever you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, with gratitude to God through Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
To do anything 'in the name of the Lord Jesus' is to perform it from the awareness that the I AM—your true self—originates all action. The phrase invites you to treat every word and deed as an expression of the consciousness you inhabit in that moment, not a mere gesture in the world. When you assume this inner state, you are not petitioning an external God but aligning with the one Life that animates you. Gratitude becomes the atmosphere of that state; by thanking God through Him, you acknowledge the unity of Source and expression, and your acts carry that unity into form. If you want a different result in any situation, revise the scene inwardly: assume the feeling of the completed act as already yours; see yourself speaking and acting from the Lord's name, and let your outer world catch up. The practice is simple: dwell in the I AM, and let every word or deed flow from that presence, watching reality bend to your inner assumption.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM as the living presence behind every gesture, and revise any word or deed that does not express that presence, seeing it transformed in your imagination.
