Colossians 2:8-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul warns against being spoiled by philosophy and tradition, insisting that believers are complete in Christ, forgiven of sins, and raised to a new life through baptism. He declares that Christ's fullness and sovereignty trump worldly rules and powers.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the reader's consciousness, the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in the sense of I AM. When you affirm, 'I am complete in Christ,' you are not adding a doctrine to your life; you are displacing a false self with the true self that Christ reveals. The 'rudiments' and vain philosophies are the noise of a dream; the truth is that the circumcision without hands is the cutting away of the old belief system from your awareness, a baptism of recognition that you are already risen with him. Buried with him in baptism becomes the moment you accept the operative power of God within you, and your heart aligns with the fact of a new life. Being dead in sins and quickened together with him is a present shift of identification, not a distant event: forgiveness flows as the realization that all trespasses have been canceled in the light of your I AM. The handwriting of ordinances is blotted out when you stop pretending external laws govern you, and you witness the open triumph of principalities and powers over them in consciousness. The world’s claims fade as you dwell in this inner ruling principle.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Close your eyes, place your hand on your chest, and repeat, 'I am complete in Christ now.' Feel the old beliefs drop away as you imagine the circumcision of the heart, the baptism into new life, and the handwriting of ordinances erased from your mind.
